SICG MATCH PLAY KNOCK OUT RULES 2018
1) Competition open to all members.
2) Names and contact numbers available on SICG website.
3) Matches maybe played at any time including inside club competition times subject to there being sufficient tee times available.
4) The entrance fee for each Knock Out Competition will be 3 Euros to be paid to Alan Winstanley prior to the start of the competition.
5) Following the draw it is the responsibility of the first named player(s) to contact their opponent(s) within a week to arrange a playing date. It would be reasonable to expect three dates to be given with a reasonable amount of time between each date, failure to do so will result in the loss of the match. In the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances the Committee’s decision will be final.
6) Men will play from the WHITE TEES and Ladies from the RED TEES.
In the pairs competition Ladies will use the mens’ stroke indices.
7) Competitions to be played over 18 holes.
8) In the event of a tie sudden death to be played from the 1st hole. If unable to continue due to the course being unavailable another match can be arranged over 9 or 18 holes but must still be played by the published deadline. If a subsequent date cannot be agreed by both sides then the match can be decided by a toss of a coin.
9) The maximum handicap will be 36. In compliance with EGA and FPG rules, handicaps for the singles competition will be 100% of the difference and for the pair’s competition the lowest handicap player will play off scratch and the other three will receive 90% of the difference.
10) Each player must have played in at least five SICG handicap qualifying competitions since 1st October 2017 before playing in the 1st round.
11) It is the responsibility of the winner of each match to email Alan Winstanley with the result.
The deadline dates for the 2018 Competitions for each round are as follows;
- Round of 32–April 2nd
- Round of 16–May 28th
- Quarter Finals–July 30th
- Semi Finals–Sept 21st
- Finals–November 16th
